A unique residential community in Prescott, Arizona. Prescott is 90 minutes north of Phoenix in the mountains. The Canyons at Granite Park is located eight minutes north of downtown Prescott.
The Canyons at Granite Park's most striking feature is the 1.5 billion year old granite rock formations throughout the 110 acre project and adjacent open space and city parks.
Founded in 1905. From 1905 to 1950, it was known as Arizona Garden of the Gods.
Tom Mix, the historic western film actor, filmed many Hollywood movies on this site.
In 1926, a section became a recreation park and included such amenities as Arizona's first heated swimming pool, a dance pavilion featuring Big Bands, a restaurant and children's park.
On any given weekend in the 1930s, 400 residents and guests would visit the park. The park also hosted other events including beauty pageants, visiting bands and various other entertaining performances. At the time, Prescott's population was only around 5,000.
Sun Pine Homes, the developer, has restored the historic swimming pool in the Canyons at Granite Park. In addition, 25% of Granite Park is devoted to open space. This includes private hiking trails that are adjacent to the city's hiking trails in Willow Lake Park.
Sizes of the home sites range from 1/3 to 3 acres. Some of the homes actually are built into the boulders – with exposed granite rock walls integrated into the actual structure. Other lots have granite wall rear yards complete with waterfalls.
The development also features privacy and city utilities.

Alan Snyder, owner and founder of Sun Pine Homes, is a third-generation builder. The Snyder family has been building custom homes since 1919.
Alan's grandfather, Charles Heath Snyder, was an ardent disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright. He passed many of Wright's passions and beliefs to his grandson.
